Hi everyone!! This week was our THREE MONTH MARK!! Can you believe it? It feels like the first week of April was just last week. We were so happy to have welcomed Michelle, Sophia and Sareena to our LHA family! They are excited to host their meetings with residents. This week, we have started branching out to even more facilities, so stay tuned to the bottom of the home page of our website to check out more of the facilities we work with! Additionally, we started selling merchandise!! Visit zazzle.com/lhamerch to check out our collection! A portion of the sales go to us, so we can donate more supplies to different care facilities. And, we finally have our LinkedIn page up and running! If you have LinkedIn, please check out our page and consider following us! Have a great week!
It's July now! Crazy right? It seems like it was just yesterday when we started Lifting Hearts with the Arts. This week, we continued to host our one-on-one and group activities. Shout out to the residents at Brookdale Urbana for answering every single question correctly in our jeopardy game!! They are seriously geniuses. Additionally, we have partnered with an organization called Wordy What!! Created by LHA's treasurer, Riya, Wordy What aims to spread a love of words and language to children and adults of all ages. Riya has just published a puzzle book called Detective Wordy with 50 unique word puzzle games unique to Chicago! The link to purchase Detective Wordy books is on the Donate page of our website. We are working with Wordy What to donate several copies of Detective Wordy to the facilities we work with. Check out our newly updated Press Page on our website! We update it regularly. Please remember to spread the word about our organization and to follow us on our social media (instagram, twitter and facebook)!!
Can you believe it's almost the end of June?! Time flies when you're volunteering for LHA. This week, we are happy to have introduced Toks, Seema, Liana and Kristen to our team! They are excited to meet residents who have just signed up. Additionally, this past week marked the first time we were able to meet some residents in person! We have met with them for over 2 months virtually and it was an incredible experience to meet them in person. As social distancing restrictions wane, we can't wait to meet more of the residents in person!! We were able to donate an iPad as well as several art supplies! Stay tuned to our social media pages to see some more photos.
Good afternoon! Week 9 encompassed several smiles, lots of laughter and cheerful conversations. Riya, our website editor is continuing to update several areas of the website. The new counter on the home page of our website displays how many living facilities we work with, as well as how many sessions we have held. We just updated it today, so be sure to take a look! Shoutout to our volunteers Ivy and Caroline for being recognized by some Activities directors for hosting amazing sessions with residents! Hello everyone! This week was our 2 month mark! We began working with some new senior living facilities and look forward to meeting the residents! We have continued building friendships with our current residents, some of which we’ve been meeting regularly for almost 6 weeks! Our volunteers hosted 6 virtual bingo sessions this week and several other game sessions! One of our volunteers, Mia, started hosting virtual painting lessons as well. We just donated art supplies and devices to three different facilities and are preparing to send even more packages in the coming weeks. Congressman Quigley from Illinois's 5th congressional district joined our team meeting this past Friday! His words of advice were very helpful and we are thankful to have met such a wonderful leader. Please remember to help spread the word about our organization and stay tuned to our social media pages for more posts! You can follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Hi everyone! Week 5 was a great week for Lifting Hearts with the Arts. We welcomed Aria, Gabi, Meg, Ella and Ellerie to our team!! Additionally, we filed our organization with the state of Illinois and are officially a nonprofit! We have added a google form to our website where you can enter details for any gently-used tablets that you are willing to donate. We were even interviewed on WGN radio by Ms. Anna Davlantes! We met with 117 residents this past week and our calendars are filling up! We cherish our meetings with the residents and love building new friendships. Please continue to spread the word about our organization to your friends/family!
Hi everyone! Week four was a big week for Lifting Hearts with the Arts. We met with 47 residents through video and phone calls and have added several new volunteers to our team! Mia, Darcy, Chelsea, Chloe, Jordan, Kalaya, and Ellie are excited to meet with all of our new residents. If you have any gently-used tablets/iPads, please consider donating them to our organization so that we can help the residents of assisted living homes virtually connect with their families during these unique and trying times.
In week number three, we have continued to meet new people and develop many new friendships. In fact, we connected with 42 residents this past week! We have broadened our reach to many more assisted living facilities and even a home for the visually impaired. We cherish each of our conversations and feel lucky to have met such kind and warm individuals. If you can, please donate to our GoFundMe or continue to spread the word about our organization and services!
